All Hands on Deck

Hi, I'm Allen Epstein, and I invite you to join my team at EXCL in Education in creating a solution to our public education dilemma. Our current system fails us by letting students move forward without ever mastering essential foundational concepts and skills, leaving them incapable of succeeding in courses that build on this substandard base.

Eventually, these cracks in learning cause students to feel that they are incapable of understanding, and in many cases, give up entirely. This is especially true in marginalized communities like the ethnically diverse inner-cities.

EXCL was designed to meet the needs of these communities. We don't consider just "passing" as the goal, nor simple proficiency, but rather our target is to achieve mastery. Without mastery of basics, true understanding becomes an impossibility.

EXCL's methodology provides this mastery by placing the student in the precise class they need with the exact teacher they need. This process provides an enjoyable experience for the student while dramatically increasing learning and information retention. Many inner-city students believe their future to be pre-determined by their circumstances, but this need not be the case. These students simply need to believe they can succeed academically.

So how does EXCL let students know they can succeed? Simple.

EXCL uses a carefully designed quiz feedback system that allows us to understand the student's current skill set. Then, we place them in the class to fill the cracks that let them learn and succeed -- with the teacher they choose to facilitate their success!

EXCL also adds the motivating force of incentives. Rewards for teachers whose dynamic lessons drive their students to success while students can qualify for rewards for mastering educational objectives.

Naturally, everyone wants to learn from the "best" teachers in every school, but brick and mortar rooms have limits, and some students can't get in. With our system, our rooms are so large they can fit whoever wants to be there! Or they can supplement their learning with one of our teachers who presents learning in a little different way that makes more sense. That's EXCL.

To bring our revolutionary process to fruition, EXCL needs four groups:

1) Students who realize success will only come from starting a subject before the material gets difficult. The motivation will be in the increased chance of winning prizes because the material becomes easy when presented in a way they understand! Most importantly, the student will have the advantage of teacher choice -- determined to be the most critical factor in learning by 2 to 3 times over any other piece of the learning process!

2) Dedicated teachers who want to be a part of our EXCL in Education family. Those who have "the gift" of communicating the subject matter in a way that makes sense to more students. Who wouldn't want to supplement their income derived by teaching to whoever wants to learn? It's possible that the best teachers can influence millions of students instead of dozens -- and reap the financial benefit as well!

3) Corporate partners who can work with us to provide appropriate student prizes at an affordable price to keep the cost of our subscription price low. We will always acknowledge our partners for their help in supporting our neediest communities and inspiring our students to learn. What greater good can any company achieve than to encourage students to succeed? Just think of hiring from a more incredible selection of capable and motivated prospective workers!

4) School districts that are willing to allocate a tiny part of their revenue to subscribe their students into EXCL -- to increase proficiency, diminish dropouts and revive interest in learning. Wouldn't it be great to be among the districts that are role models of effective learning!
